Nicholas Klitzing is a corporate affairs and public policy advisor with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations navigate complex regulatory, political, and stakeholder environments.
He advises executive leadership teams on public affairs strategy, government engagement, and strategic communications in highly regulated industries, including healthcare, energy, and large-scale infrastructure development.
Nicholas has led multi-state advocacy and communications efforts supporting organizations facing legislative scrutiny, regulatory challenges, and high-visibility public debate. His work integrates policy strategy, stakeholder engagement, and narrative development to align business objectives with political and community realities—and to position organizations effectively in outcome-driven environments.
His experience spans corporate public affairs and large-scale advocacy efforts, including work in highly competitive environments where message discipline, stakeholder alignment, and execution directly influence outcomes. This perspective informs his approach to corporate public affairs, ensuring strategies are grounded not only in policy expertise, but in real-world effectiveness.
Prior to co-founding Validus, Nicholas served as Vice President and Director of Public Affairs at a national advisory firm, where he led communications and government affairs strategies for Fortune-scale clients across healthcare, energy, and regulated industries.
Earlier in his career, he served as a senior advisor within a statewide executive organization, overseeing communications, strategy, and external engagement across a complex, high-profile operating environment.
He is known for bringing disciplined strategic judgment to complex environments, translating highly technical issues into clear, credible narratives, and aligning stakeholders to support measurable outcomes.
